My Contract Questions

  • Who can cancel my plan?

Before canceling your vehicle service contract, remember you may have options to keep your Endurance protection active, like adjusting your payment terms to make coverage more affordable or transferring your plan to a new owner if you sell your vehicle.

However, we understand there are situations where cancellation becomes necessary, and in some cases, someone other than the contract holder may need to step in.

    Who Can Cancel Endurance Warranty

Depending on your circumstances, Endurance cancellation may be requested by:

    • The original contract holder.
    • A finance company. If your contract is financed, your financer may be able to cancel in cases such as non-payment.
    • An authorized representative. In the event of the contract holder’s death or inability to act, a next of kin, executor of estate, or power of attorney may request cancellation with proper documentation.

To initiate cancellation in any of these situations, proof or documentation will be required. For guidance on next steps, contact our customer support team at (866) 432-4443.

  • Can I reinstate my plan?

At Endurance, we want to make sure you stay protected from the cost of unexpected breakdowns. That’s why we offer options like adjusting your payment terms to help you maintain coverage that fits your needs or transferring your plan if you’re selling your vehicle.

Once you officially cancel your Endurance vehicle service contract, your coverage ends and cannot be reinstated under the same contract terms. If you decide you’d like coverage again after your cancellation, you’ll need to purchase a new Endurance plan.

What’s the Difference between Reinstating and Renewing?

Reinstating and renewing are not the same. Reinstating usually applies when a contract is canceled due to non-payment. You may be eligible for reinstatement if your financial obligations are met and your account is brought back into good standing.

Renewing is different. Many Endurance plans allow you to renew your coverage before it expires. To qualify, your renewal must be requested within 30 days and 1,000 miles of your contract’s expiration date.

If you’re not sure where your contract stands or want to review your options, log in to the Endurance Customer Portal or call our customer support team at (866) 432-4443 for help.

  • What if I don’t return the Endurance cancellation form?

Prior to canceling your Endurance coverage, it’s important to remember that cancellation isn’t your only option. Many drivers choose alternatives that allow them to keep protection in place, such as working with our team to adjust payment terms so coverage stays affordable or transferring their plan to a new owner when selling their vehicle.

Exploring these options can help you avoid losing your protection against costly breakdowns while still meeting your budget needs.

What Happens If the Cancel Form Isn’t Returned

Calling us at (866) 432-4443 and speaking with our support team is the first step to cancelling your Endurance contract. However, your request isn’t complete until the official cancellation form is filled out and returned.

Until the form is received, your account and coverage will stay active, regular payments will still be due, and financing partners may continue to send billing statements and delinquency notices.

This form includes mileage verification, which must be provided through either a Federal Odometer Statement (a federally required document that records your exact mileage) or a notarized affidavit confirming your mileage at the time of cancellation.

Without notarization, we can’t confirm your vehicle’s mileage, which means your cancellation request may remain incomplete, and any refund you may be eligible for cannot be processed.

For help with your Endurance cancellation or the notarization process, call our customer support team at (866) 432-4443.

  • Why do I need to have my cancel form notarized?

Before moving forward with cancellation, it’s important to understand what’s required and why. Canceling your Endurance coverage means you’ll no longer have protection from unexpected breakdowns and costly repair bills. That’s why we encourage you to connect with our team first, especially if you’re experiencing financial hardship, to consider your options.

Why a Notarized Form is Required to Cancel Endurance Warranty

To cancel your vehicle service contract, an official Endurance cancellation form must be completed in full and notarized before it is submitted. As part of this process, you’ll need to provide mileage verification through either a Federal Odometer Statement or a notarized affidavit confirming your vehicle’s mileage at the time of cancellation.

A Federal Odometer Statement (also called an Odometer Disclosure Statement) is a federally required document that records the exact mileage on your vehicle at a specific point in time. Having this information notarized ensures the mileage is accurate and legally verified, which protects both you and Endurance.

Notarization also helps prevent fraud, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, and confirms all contract requirements are met for any eligible refund.

    Where to Find a Notary

Notary services are usually available at banks, credit unions, law offices, and even some public libraries. Many offer the service for free to their customers or charge a small fee.

For help completing your Endurance cancellation or understanding the notarization process, please call our customer support team at (866) 432-4443.

  • How do I get a cancellation form?

Canceling your Endurance vehicle service contract means you’ll be responsible for unexpected breakdowns and repair bills. That’s why we encourage you to first speak with our team if you’re facing financial hardship or thinking about ending your coverage.

In many cases, we can help you explore options like adjusting your monthly payments so you can keep your protection in place or even transferring your plan to a new vehicle owner.

    Requesting an Endurance Cancellation Form

If you still choose to cancel, just give our customer support team a call at (866) 432-4443. A representative will walk through your situation, review your contract, explain what to expect, and provide the instructions you’ll need to obtain and complete an official cancellation form.

In most cases, we can email you the cancellation form directly. If you’ve already requested it but haven’t seen it in your inbox, be sure to check your Spam or Junk folder for a message from Endurance.

Because every contract is different, the process may vary depending on your plan details, claim history, or financing. To review your options and request an Endurance cancellation, please call (866) 432-4443.

  • Can I transfer my coverage to a new vehicle?

Unfortunately, you cannot transfer your Endurance coverage to a different vehicle. Your auto protection plan is customized to your vehicle’s specific make, model, year, mileage, and condition. If you are looking to set up coverage on a new vehicle, please contact us for a new custom quote.

However, if you sell the car, truck, or SUV listed on your existing Endurance contract, the coverage can be transferred to the new owner. We can also cover any additional vehicles you purchase to help save you money in the event of an unexpected breakdown.

  • How do I renew my contract?

Endurance coverage typically does not auto-renew at the end of your vehicle service contract term. If you would like to extend your coverage or get a customized quote for a new auto protection plan, please reach out to our customer service team at (866) 432-4443.

Our team can help provide a customized quote based on your vehicle’s current condition and needs. It’s important to reach out before your existing contract expires to ensure you maintain uninterrupted protection and avoid any gaps in coverage. Keep in mind that renewing your contract may offer the chance to adjust your plan to better suit your driving habits or any changes in your vehicle’s condition.

  • How do I add another vehicle to my contract?

Getting Endurance coverage on a new vehicle is easy! While we can’t add a new vehicle to an existing contract, we’re ready to provide you with a quote tailored specifically to your new car, truck, or SUV. We also offer a multi-car discount!

Reach out to our award-winning customer service team at (866) 432-4443. Please be sure you have your new vehicle’s make/model, year, vehicle identification number (VIN), and current mileage handy. This information will help us ensure a smooth and efficient process in securing coverage for your additional vehicle.

  • Where is my refund?

If you’ve chosen to cancel your Endurance vehicle service contract (sometimes referred to as an auto protection plan or extended warranty), your refund can only be processed once the official cancellation form is completed, notarized, and returned to us.

Without notarization, we can’t confirm your vehicle’s mileage, which means your cancellation request may remain incomplete, and any refund you may be eligible for cannot be processed. You can learn more about this requirement in our FAQ: Why do I need to have my form notarized?

Once we receive your notarized cancellation form, please allow up to 6 weeks for standard processing. Refunds are issued by check or credited back to your original payment method, depending on how your contract was set up.

If you have questions or need help with the process, call our customer support team at (866) 432-4443.

  • How do I get a copy of my contract?

You can find a copy of your vehicle service contract on the Endurance Mobile app, which also allows you to view claims, request roadside assistance, and more from your smartphone. Simply download the app from the Google Play Store for Android phones or the Apple App Store for iPhones (iOS).

  • What does mechanical breakdown insurance cover?

Mechanical breakdown insurance (MBI) is an extended service contract that covers the cost of repairing or replacing parts of a vehicle that experiences a mechanical breakdown. This type of insurance typically covers the cost of parts and labor associated with repairs caused by a mechanical failure. This coverage can be provided by an auto dealership or a third-party insurer, and it can be purchased separately from a standard auto insurance policy.

In general, MBI covers the cost of repairing or replacing certain components of a vehicle, such as the engine, transmission, suspension, fuel system, brakes, air conditioning, heating, electrical system, and other major components. The coverage may also include towing and rental car reimbursement, depending on the insurer.

MBI usually does not cover damage caused by accident, abuse, neglect, or worn-out components due to normal wear and tear. It may also not cover the cost of preventive maintenance, such as oil changes or tune-ups. This coverage may also include roadside assistance and other services, such as trip interruption coverage, which helps cover the cost of lodging and meals if your car breaks down while you’re on a trip.

When considering mechanical breakdown insurance, it’s important to carefully review the terms and conditions of the policy to understand exactly what is and isn’t covered. Doing so will help you determine the right option for you and your vehicle.

  • What is covered under my check engine light?

The check engine light is a dashboard warning light that is part of the onboard diagnostic system (OBD-II). The check engine light is typically yellow, orange, or amber and can display the words “check engine.” In some vehicles, the indicator light can turn red or blink. If you see this, contact roadside assistance, repair shops, or an ASE Certified technician immediately to prevent further damage.

A few common causes for a check engine light include:

    • The gas cap is loose
    • An oxygen sensor is bad
    • Spark plugs need to be replaced
    • Failing oxygen system
    • The catalytic converter is going out
    • The mass airflow sensor is faulty
    • The brake system is failing
    • Low oil pressure
    • The engine is misfiring

It is essential to pay attention to your check engine light. Although it isn’t generally a reason to panic, ignoring the problem can put unnecessary strain on your car’s components and even cause catastrophic damage. Endurance auto protection plans can prevent you from paying out of pocket for expensive, unexpected engine repairs.

  • When can I begin using my contract?

Your coverage is active after the waiting period is over. The waiting period allows us to ensure your vehicle is working properly and is an excellent time for you to review your contract and make sure it’s the right coverage for you and your vehicle. Please refer to your contract for the time and mileage of your waiting period.

  • How do I view my contract online?

Once your vehicle service contract is active, you will receive an email summarizing your coverage and how to log in to the Endurance Customer Portal. Sign in to view your contract, view claims, go over your benefits, contact 24/7 roadside assistance, or make a payment.

If you experience sign-in issues, please delete your browser history (or “cookies”) and try again. You can also contact our customer service team at (866) 432-4443 or email [email protected] for help.

  • How do I view my contract in the Endurance Mobile app?

To view your contract in the Endurance Mobile app, you must first download it from your device’s app store. Download the app from the Google Play Store for Android phones or the Apple App Store for iPhones (iOS).

Once downloaded, open the app and create an Endurance Customer Portal account or sign in using your email address and password. View your contract information directly on the main dashboard.

If you experience issues signing in, please delete the app and try again. You may also contact our customer service team at (866) 432-4443 or email [email protected] for help.

  • Can I cancel my extended vehicle warranty?

    Canceling Your Endurance Warranty Plan

Financial hardships like a sudden illness or losing your job, as well as lifestyle changes such as having a baby or purchasing a new car or home, can impact your monthly budget, including what you’ve set aside for vehicle protection. At Endurance, we’ll work with you to help keep your coverage active so you’re not left unprotected from costly repairs.

Consider Options Before You Cancel Endurance

    • Flexible Payment Options: If you’re unsure whether you can keep your contract, review your plan terms because you may be close to paying it off, especially if you chose a shorter finance term. You can also contact us at (866) 432-4443 to discuss payment relief options that may lower your monthly cost.
    • Credit or Prorated Value: If you purchase a new vehicle before your current plan ends, you may be able to apply any refundable or unused portion of your old contract toward a new Endurance plan. This can help you avoid gaps in breakdown coverage while you transition to your new car and help reduce the cost of coverage.
    • Transfer Your Plan: If you’re selling a car with an active Endurance vehicle service contract, you may be able to transfer your plan and the ongoing monthly payments to the new owner. This adds value for the buyer and may free up room in your monthly budget.

    How to Cancel Endurance Warranty

Every Endurance vehicle service contract comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Your first 30 days after purchasing your new contract is a review or waiting period. We encourage you to use this time to familiarize yourself with your coverage details and the additional benefits that are included with your contract.

If you decide to cancel for any reason within 30 days of purchase, simply call our customer support team at (866) 432-4443. If you haven’t used your coverage, we can cancel your contract and fully refund your initial payment, less any applicable fees.

    Canceling Endurance After 30 Days

You may cancel your Endurance contract at any time. If you’d like to cancel after your initial waiting period, contact customer support at (866) 432-4443. A representative will explain your options, outline what to expect, and provide guidance on completing the process.

To officially cancel, you’ll need to submit a cancellation form that includes mileage verification through either a Federal Odometer Statement or a notarized affidavit.

If you’ve filed a claim or are beyond the first 30 days of purchase, you may receive a prorated refund, less an administrative fee and the total amount of approved claims. Your prorated refund amount is also based on the number of active months or the number of miles driven before the cancellation request.

  • What responsibilities do I have to keep the coverage active?

To keep your vehicle protection plan active, follow these best practices:

    • Read and understand your vehicle service contract to know what is covered and what can potentially void your plan.
    • Have your car serviced on time by scheduling routine maintenance checks.
    • Keep receipts and service records to assure that you have a paper trail of all your maintenance services if you ever need them.
  • Is my service contract or protection plan transferable?

Yes, most Endurance vehicle service contracts (sometimes called auto protection plans or extended warranties) are transferable to a new owner. If you sell your car, truck, or SUV, you can transfer your coverage to the new owner, adding value to your vehicle and giving the buyer extra peace of mind.

Transferring your plan can also be a smart alternative to canceling, since it allows you to pass along the protection to the new owner. If you’re purchasing a different vehicle, you may also be eligible to start a new Endurance plan to keep your protection in place.

Please note that a small transfer fee may apply, as outlined in your contract.

To learn more about transferring your coverage or to start the process, call our customer support team at (866) 432-4443.

  • Are there additional benefits included with my contract?

All Endurance vehicle protection plans come with additional perks, including 24/7 roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement, travel interruption reimbursement, and our convenient and easy-to-use mobile app.
